Meet Your Welfare Officers

Welcome to Skipton Swimming Club! We’re really glad you’re here.

As part of joining the club, we want you to know who you can come to if you ever have a worry, a question, or just need someone to talk to. Our two Welfare Officers — Dominic Coughlin and Georgina Wilkins — are volunteers who help make sure every swimmer feels safe, supported, and looked after.

Whether you’re a young swimmer, a parent or carer, a coach, or a volunteer, you can come to us with anything related to safeguarding. We’re often around poolside during Monday’s training session and Open Meets, so please feel free to say hello or ask for a chat. No concern is ever too small, and anything you share will be handled sensitively and only passed on if it’s needed to keep someone safe.

Keeping Our Swimmers Safe

Everyone at Skipton Swimming Club has a role to play in keeping our swimmers safe. Safeguarding isn’t just one person’s job—it’s a team effort. By working together and following the right guidance, we create a safe, positive environment for all young people in our club.

As an affiliated Swim England club, we follow their national safeguarding policy and guidance, Wavepower. This resource is designed to help protect children and support parents, carers, coaches, and volunteers.
